If you’ve been following ROWACT, you already know our mission: help women stay active, strong, and connected through rowing-inspired wellbeing and health-focused movement.

Now we’re excited to share a little behind-the-scenes update: we’re preparing our new online stretching and functional exercise sessions, and we’re building them carefully—step by step—to make sure they’re genuinely useful, easy to follow, and enjoyable for everyone.

Why we’re adding online sessions

Not everyone can make it to the club every week. Life gets busy, weather changes, bodies change, schedules explode. But consistency matters—and a simple, well-structured online session can make the difference between “I’ll start again next month” and “I moved today, and I feel better.”

These sessions are designed to support:

  • mobility and flexibility (hello hips, back, shoulders 👋)
  • core stability and posture
  • balance and coordination
  • functional strength (the kind that helps in real life, not just in the gym)
  • recovery and injury prevention, especially for rowing and everyday activity

No competition, no pressure—just smart movement, done together.

What we’re doing right now (the real work!)

Before we “go live”, we’re doing the unglamorous but essential part: preparation and testing.

Here’s what’s happening in our ROWACT “lab” right now:

1) Setting up the tools
We’re organizing all the practical things needed for smooth sessions: templates, clear instructions, timers, simple progressions, and the materials we’ll suggest (nothing fancy—think: mat, chair, towel, maybe a mini-band).

2) Building the session structure
We’re working on a flow that feels good and makes sense:

  • gentle warm-up
  • mobility work
  • functional exercises (core, legs, stability, posture)
  • cool-down + stretching
  • a short moment to breathe and reset

3) Testing session quality
We’re checking everything that can make an online class frustrating if it’s not done well:

  • audio and video clarity
  • timing and rhythm
  • exercise explanations
  • intensity (with options for different levels)
  • overall “does this feel doable and motivating?”

4) Recruiting friends (our first testers!)
We’re inviting a small group of friends to join the first sessions and give honest feedback—what’s clear, what’s confusing, what feels too easy or too hard, what they’d like more of.

Because we want these sessions to be built with women, not just for women.

What you can expect

When the sessions launch, you can expect something that is:

  • friendly and accessible
  • safe and adaptable
  • effective even in a small space at home
  • focused on feeling better, not being perfect

And yes—there will be variations depending on how you feel that day. Some days you’ll want to push a bit, other days you’ll just need mobility and breathing. Both are valid.

Want to help us shape it?

If you’d like to join the first test sessions, we’d love to have you. Your feedback will help us adjust pace, difficulty, and content so the final program is better for everyone.

➡️ Send us a message, and we’ll share the details.

ROWACT is not just a project—it’s a community that moves forward together.
And we’re getting ready to move with you. 🙌✨
